Old Town Rotary celebrated the season in style this past week.

Lots of family, loads of kids, and presents galore dominated the evening.  Following a social hour, everyone feasted on a delectable meal of ham, mac and cheese, chicken fingers, buttered corn, and ice cream sandwiches designed to please both big and little kids alike.

Next President Corina and Foundation Chair Dave presented Rotarian extraordinaire Stan with a Paul Harris Fellow honoring his hard work and commitment to Rotary and the community.  With the serious business over, the meeting was surrendered to the mistress of ceremonies Linda (aka Queen of the Elves) who, rumor has it, is pretty tight with the jolly old elf himself (no, not Bugsy – SANTA!).  A game of Christmas songs for the kids revealed the very good reason Old Town Rotary doesn’t sing every week.  Hey at least we had heart….tone and rhythm not so much….but lots of heart.

Suddenly a bell was heard and Santa burst onto the scene eliciting a flurry of excitement and even a scream from one very enthusiastic young man; whether it was a scream of terror or joy - well we aren't quite sure - but it made for a dandy good laugh for the rest of us!  Santa made the rounds checking the naughty and nice list for those present and then the gifts and candy canes began to flow to the delight of all the children.

It was a grand evening befitting of Rotary Family Month and the holiday season.  Thanks to everyone who helped make it a fun evening and a very special thanks to our very own "Santa" (he knows who he is) and his number one elf Linda who made the evening spectacular for the little people in our family of Rotary.   To see a few pictures from the event check out the photo album in the left column!
